The Chief Minister of Puducherry Shri V. Narayanasamy urges to ban Online Rummy games as well as other gambling platform in Puducherry. The Puducherry govt approached the union government regarding the ban of online rummy games and other applications which involve real gambling. In an interview the CM Shri V. Narayanasamy said that he has written a letter to the Union communications, Information technology & electronics and Law & justice minister Ravi Shankar Prasad regarding the ban of online Rummy and gambling platform.
The government is focusing on Ban of online rummy & gambling so much because, few days a ago a man from Villianur in Poducherry committed suicide after losing more than Rs30 lakh in online gambling. After that he was in a huge debt so, he committed suicide. The man set himself on fire after posting a Whatsapp audio message urging the government to ban all online gambling platform. As per Narayansamy, the government had received this request from various areas of the Puducherry requesting the government to ban online rummy with all the other online gaming platform.
Narayanasamy said, “The government conceded to their demand. I have written to the union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad urging him to impose a ban on all online gambling platforms. Several innocent and ignorant people get addicted to online gambling platform and lose money rendering their families homeless,”
The man reminds the blue whale mobile application, which was banned after a few people engage themselves with the game and end up committing suicide.
Let’s see the era of banning goes which way. We all know porn websites are banned in India yet people manages to get the access of the these sites. If we want to ban these applications the government have to ban the applications completely like TikTok & other Chinese applications.
