2021 WSOP Online Series

The WSOP Online series will be returning for a second edition in July. The action starts on with 33 bracelets to be awarded through July 1 – August 1. The events will also be open to players geo-located in Nevada and New Jersey.

As soon as the leg concludes, international players will get their chance to compete for the next lot of 33 online bracelets on GGPoker/Natural8. The WSOP Online Series on GGPoker/Natural8 begins August 1 and concludes September 12, about two weeks before the start of the World Series of Poker live series at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

In total, 66 bracelets will be up for grabs across both festivals, with 33 bracelets available on and 33 on GGPoker. While the number of bracelets offered on has increased by two from last year’s 31, the bracelet count on GGPoker has dropped sharply from last year’s 54.

The inaugural edition of the WSOP Online series was a raging success, especially the Main Event that generated a record-breaking $27.5 Million prize pool. The event was championed by Stoyan Madanzhiev for $3.90 Million. While many believed that with live poker still unavailable, Madanzhiev would be considered the 2020 WSOP Main Event champion. WSOP put a spanner on things by announcing a hybrid online-live Main Event around the year-end to crown the 2020 Main Event champion. Damian Salas, the winner of the international leg of the WSOP Online Main Event, won the heads-up match against the domestic champion Joseph Hebert in Las Vegas.

Commenting on the upcoming series of events, Director of the World Series of Poker Gregory Chochon said, “The bar has been set with last year’s record-breaking series, but we’re hoping to raise it even higher this year. One of our goals is to provide as many people the chance to become champions as possible. However, we know not everyone can or is comfortable traveling yet, so continuing a robust online bracelet offering in 2021 is a must.”

Talking about the GGPoker & WSOP collaboration, GGPoker Head of Poker Operations Steve Preiss stated, “When GGPoker & WSOP partnered in 2020, we broke world records. Our plans for 2021 are to offer even more to our customers. With massive tournaments, WSOP gold bracelets & rings, and a route into the live WSOP Main Event in November, we hope players will love what we have in store for them.”

Online Satellites for Upcoming WSOP Live Series

A tentative schedule for the WSOP annual live series was shared in the first week of April. The series, which is slated to run from September 30 to November 23, occurs at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

GGPoker is already preparing its satellite offering for the $10,300 WSOP Main Event scheduled to start on November 4. Satellites to the Main Event will be hosted on both and GGPoker, although details are yet to be announced.

However, the fate of the WSOP live series still rests heavily on the overall pandemic situation.
